Since 1666 the waistcoat has been an essential part of a man's formal wardrobe. Throughout the years styles have changed as well as the popularity of the waistcoat. During Colonial American times, any well dressed boy or man was expected to wear a waistcoat. It is essentially a sleeveless garment that fastens up the front.
This waistcoat is based on historic designs and is made of cotton with pewter colored buttons, and has 2 mock pockets on the front. Paired with breeches, knee socks, a shirt, and a tricornered hat you have a complete 18th century outfit.

Suitable for reenactments, school plays, the CAR, even Halloween.
